Synthesis, characterization, and antimicrobial activity of 3′-(4-(2-substituted thiazol-4-yl)phenyl)spiro[indoline-3,2′- thiazolidine]-2,4′-dions

A series of 3′-(4-(2-methyl/phenyl/benzylthiazol-4-yl)phenyl) spiro[indoline-3,2′-thiazolidine]-2,4′-diones was synthesized. The structures of the synthesized compounds were evaluated by analytical and spectral (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, LC-MS, and elemental analysis) methods. All the synthesized compounds were screened for qualitative (Zone of inhibition) and quantitative antimicrobial activities (MIC). Most of the derivatives showed good activity towards Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
