The new dirhodium complexes (I: L=CH3CONC6H5; II: L=CH3CSNC6H5) have been prepared from and the appropiate ligand obtained by deprotonation of the corresponding RCXNHPh compounds (X=O or S) with NaH.The complexI reacts with PPh3 in hexane to give (III), which undergoes two one-electron oxidations at a platinum bead electrode in CH2Cl2.The first process is reversible and gives a monocation with a 3+ core.Oxidation of III with gives the paramagnetic complex (IV).
