The dependence of the structural factors which determine the stability of C-aryl-crown-formazans on the length of the di(oligo)oxaalkane chain was studied by means of the PMR, IR, and electronic spectra.The investigated factors include the conformational strain in the di(oligo)oxaalkane chain, the ? conjugation in the N,N-diarylazohydrazone fragment, and the intramolecular hydrogen bond in the formazan ring.
