The reactivity of keto enolates with 1-chloro and 3-chloro-2-methoxycarbonylhydrazono-propylphosphonates 1 and 2 is studied.It is shown that those enolates react with the chlorohydrazone 1 to give 3-diethoxyphosphonopyrroles 5 under a mechanistic pathway
