β-Hydroxydithiocinnamic acid reacts with L2MCl2(L = Et3P, Ph3P, 1/2dppe; M = Pd, Pt) to yield 2-benzoyl-1,1-ethenedithiolate complexes L2M (2a: L = Ph3P, M = Pd; 2b: L = Et3P, M = Pt; 2c: L = Ph3P, M = Pt; 2d: L = 1/2dppe, M = Pt).The compounds 2a - 2d were characterized by their spectroscopic data (IR; 1H, 13C, 31P NMR); the structure of 2c was determined by X-ray diffraction.A fluid solution of 2c shows fluorescence.
