SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF Rh(III), Pd(II), Pt(II), Ag(I) AND Au(III) COMPLEXES OF 1-METHYL-3,4-DIPHENYLPYRAZOLE

The new complexes x, mer-, (LH)2 (M=Pd,Pt), cis- (M=Pd,Pt), trans-, (NO3), (LH) and , where L=1-methyl-3,4-diphenylpyrazole, have been isolated.Several synthetic routes were investigated.The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, X-ray powder patterns, thermal methods, magnetic susceptibilities ans spectral (IR and far-IR, Raman, ligand field, 1H-NMR) studies.Pseudooctahedral stereochemistries for the Rh(III) complexes and square planar structures for the Pd(II), Pt(II) and Au(III) compounds are assigned in the solid state.The Ag(I) complex exhibits a linear twofold coordination with (1+) cations and uncoordinated nitrates.The unsubstituted N(2) atom (the "pyridine" nitrogen) of L is the donor atom to the metal ions or the protonation site.
