3-Arylindolizines were prepared by one-pot domino reactions from benzyl halides with pyridine (or isoquinoline) and cyclic or acyclic dihalide-substituted electron-deficient alkenes in the presence of potassium carbonate via in situ generated N-ylide intermediate.
