The N-glucosylation of 5- and 6-aminoindoles (at the amino group) was studied.The reaction of the aminoindoles with acetobromoglucose in acetone in the presence of potassium carbonate gave N-(tetra-O-acetyl-D-glucopyranosyl)-5(6)-aminoindoles as mixtures of the anomers.The products were converted by N-acetylation with acetic anhydride in pyridine into the individual β anomers of N,O-acetylated N-glucosides.O-Deacetylation of the latter led to the corresponding N-β-D-glucopyranosyl acetamidoindoles.
