Carbon suboxide reacts with the phosphorus derivatives PR2P' (R = Ph, Cy; R' = H, Cl, Me3Si, Me3Ge, Me3Sn).Depending on the nature of R', insertion reactions either on the C=C or C=O bond occur.If R = R' = Cy, polymerization of C3O2 takes place.Sulphur derivatives (Me3SiSPh, n-Bu3SnSPh, t-Bu2S), chlorine derivatives (Me3SiCl, Me3SnCl, Me3PbCl, t-BuCl, PhHgCl, MeCOCl) and PPh3 do not react with C3O2 under similar conditions.
