4-Phenyl-5-arylimino-Δ2-1,2,3,4-thiatriazolines are presumably formed by reacting 5-arylaminothiatriazoles with benzyne at 50 deg C, but decompose in situ to benzothiazole derivatives by way of the two pathways (a) and (b) shown in Scheme 4.
