1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Diazomethane to Shikimic Acid Derivatives

During our study on the acid fraction obtained from the hexane extract of Senecio nebrodensis L. some pyrazolines were found.These substances are artefacts produced by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of diazomethane to the shikimic acid derivatives present in the plant.In order to study this kind of products we have prepared model compounds which spectroscopic and chemical properties have been analyzed.
