A series of 5-alkylthio-1,3-dithianes were synthesized from S,S'-(2-alkylthiotrimethylene)di(benzenethiosulfonates).These compounds showed biological activity against Culex pipience molestus, Laodelphax striatellus and Tetranichus urticae.Potent activity was displayed by 2-cyano-2-(1-pyrrolidino)carbonyl-5-isopropylthio-1,3-dithiane.
