Convenient syntheses of some 5-(N-cyclohexylidenehydrazono)-3-arylimino-1,2,4-dithiazolidines (V) have been achieved by oxidative debenzylation and cyclization of the corresponding 1-(cyclohexylideneamino)-5-aryl-2-S-benzyliso-2,4-dithiobiurets (III) which, in turn, were prepared by the condensation of S-benzylisocyclohexanone thiosemicarbazone (II) with a appropriate aryl isothiocyanate.The dithiazolidines have been characterized by their synthesis trough alternative routes (Scheme 1), elemental analysis and also by ir, nmr and mass spectra.
