The pyridinyl groups of pyridinyl-substituted diaminotriazines 3a,b and 4a,b can bind metals, and the diaminotriazinyl (DAT) groups serve independently to ensure that the resulting complexes can participate in intercomplex hydrogen bonding according to ch
