1308-82-3 Usage

General Description

Bornite, also known as peacock ore, is a copper iron sulfide mineral with the chemical formula Cu5FeS4. It is an important source of copper. Bornite is a common mineral that often displays a variety of iridescent tarnish colors. It is typically brown or copper-red on the surface but can also exhibit purple, blue, and green hues. It is brittle with a Mohs hardness of 3 and has a metallic luster. Bornite is most often found as disseminated grains in copper porphyry deposits, where it is mined as a primary copper ore.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1308-82-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,3,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1308-82:
(6*1)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*2)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 1308-82-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
