General Description

Europium oxide, also known as Europia, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Eu2O3. It's a chemical compound of europium, a lanthanide rare earth metal, and oxygen. It appears as a whitish-pink crystalline powder and exhibits unique characteristics such as high dielectric constant, ferroelectricity, and thermoluminescent properties. As such, it's commonly used in electronic devices such as color televisions, fluorescent lamps, and flat-screen displays. It can also act as an agent in the manufacture of fluorescent glass. It is obtained from minerals such as monazite sand and bastnasite, primarily found in China, the U.S., Brazil, and India.
