General Description
PNEUMADIN (RAT) is a chemical used in research to induce emphysema in rat models. It is a mixture of porcine pancreatic elastase and papain, which are enzymes that can degrade lung tissue. When administered to rats, PNEUMADIN causes lung inflammation, destruction of alveolar walls, and increased lung compliance, mimicking the pathological changes seen in human emphysema.
