A fine addition! A highly enantioselective and efficient procedure for the amino-alcohol-zinc-catalyzed addition of trimethylsilylacetylene to aromatic, α,β-unsaturated, and aliphatic aldehydes has been developed (see scheme; R=aryl, alkynyl, or alkyl; TMS=trimethylsilyl; TBDMS=tert- butyldimethylsilyl).
