General Description

Potassium sulfide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula K2S. It is an inorganic compound that appears as a yellowish or colorless crystalline solid or powder. Primarily used in the glass manufacturing industry as a component in special types of glass, it is also sometimes used in silver tarnish removers. As a strong reducing agent, it can react violently with oxidizing materials. Potassium sulfide can cause severe burns and eye damage and, therefore, it should be handled with caution in a well-ventilated environment.
