Triazine derivative and a herbicide comprising the same as an effective ingredient

The present invention relates to a novel triazine derivative represented by the general formula STR1 in the formula, A denotes STR2 (in which Y1 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and Z denotes an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom), STR3 (in which Y2 and Y3, which can be of the same kind or different kinds, each denote a methyl group or a methoxy group) or STR4 (in which Y4 denotes a methyl group, trifluoromethyl group, methoxy group or fluorine atom and n denotes an integer of 0 ro 2), X1 denotes a halogen atom and R1 denotes hydrogen, a methyl group or an ethyl group as well as a herbicide containing the triazine derivative represented by the general formula (I) as an effective ingredient.

Herbicidal compositions comprising as active ingredients a triazine derivative represented by general formula [I]: STR1 and phenoxy type herbicides represented by general formula [II]: STR2 and herbicidal compositions comprising as active ingredients a triazine derivative represented by general formula [I]: STR3 phenoxy type herbicides represented by general formula [II]: STR4 and urea type herbicides represented by general formula [III]: STR5 By synergistic effects of the active ingredients, the herbicidal compositions show a high herbicidal effect at low dosage and have such a wide range of herbicidal spectrum that the compositions exhibit their high herbicidal effect not only against broad-leaved weeds but also against Gramineae weeds, etc. The compositions have flexibility of treatment to exhibit effectiveness as compared to known herbicides for field crops and are free from injury.
