4-ARYLCOUMARINS FROM COUTAREA HEXANDRA

The structures of two neoflavonoids, isolated from a benzene extract of Coutarea hexandra have been established as 3'-hydroxy-5,7,8,4'-tetramethoxy-4-phenylcoumarin and 8,3'-dihydroxy-5,7,4'-trimethoxy-4-phenylcoumarin.The substitution pattern of 8,3',4'-trihydroxy-5,7-dimethoxy-4-phenylcoumarin, also isolated, was also confirmed by chemical reactions.
