Description
3-(Benzyloxy)-4'-Methoxy-1,1'-biphenyl, commonly known as DMMB, is a synthetic cannabinoid belonging to the indole-3-carboxamide family. It is a potent and selective agonist for the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, exhibiting high affinity for these receptors. This characteristic makes DMMB valuable in research and forensic toxicology applications.
Uses
Used in Research Applications:
3-(Benzyloxy)-4'-Methoxy-1,1'-biphenyl is used as a research compound for studying the effects and mechanisms of action of cannabinoid receptors, specifically CB1 and CB2. Its high affinity for these receptors allows researchers to investigate the role of cannabinoids in various physiological and pathological processes.
Used in Forensic Toxicology:
In the field of forensic toxicology, 3-(Benzyloxy)-4'-Methoxy-1,1'-biphenyl is utilized for the detection and analysis of synthetic cannabinoids in biological samples. Its presence can be indicative of the consumption of designer drugs or substances with psychoactive effects.
Used in Pharmaceutical Development:
Although DMMB has psychoactive properties and can cause side effects such as anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations, its interaction with cannabinoid receptors suggests potential therapeutic applications. Researchers may explore its use in the development of new drugs targeting the CB1 and CB2 receptors for conditions such as pain management, inflammation, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 132470-28-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,3,2,4,7 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 132470-28:
(8*1)+(7*3)+(6*2)+(5*4)+(4*7)+(3*0)+(2*2)+(1*8)=101
101 % 10 = 1
So 132470-28-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals with Chiral Groups on Each Side of the Core
Kobayashi, S.,Ishibashi, S.
, p. 1 - 17 (2007/10/02)
The syntheses and properties of a series of ferroelectric liquid crystals with two chiral groups, one on each side of the core, are described. One of the chiral groups is an optically active alkanoyl group and the other is a group derived from one of three kinds of optically active carboxylic acids. The mesomorphic properties and spontaneous polarization of these chiral compounds are compared with those of monochiral compounds having one of the two chiral groups. These properties and polarization values are discussed in terms of the core and the chiral structure.Thedichiral compounds all exhibit very large spontaneous polarization and the maximum value (11.3 mC/m2)was obtained for a compound with a hydroxyl group in the core.
