SIRIUS SUPRA SCARLET GG is a synthetic dye characterized by its yellow light red color. It is soluble in water, resulting in a light orange to red brown color, and also soluble in ethanol and soluble fiber element. However, it is insoluble in other organic solvents. In the dark, strong sulfuric acid turns it olive brown, while dilution results in a light brown color and black light brown precipitation. When the dye solution is mixed with strong hydrochloric acid, it produces a purple brown color and a black light brown precipitation. The addition of a thick sodium hydroxide solution results in orange brown precipitation.
