General Description

(3beta)-7,20-dioxopregn-5-ene-3,17-diyl diacetate, also known as pregnenolone acetate, is a synthetic steroid hormone and a derivative of pregnenolone. It is composed of two acetate groups attached to the 3-hydroxy and 17-hydroxy positions of the pregnenolone molecule. Pregnenolone acetate has been used in scientific research to study its potential neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and cognitive enhancing effects. It is also being investigated for its potential use in the treatment of symptoms associated with menopause and aging. However, its use as a pharmaceutical drug is limited due to its rapid metabolism and short half-life in the body.
