13345-51-2 Usage
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Prostaglandin B1 is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of various medical conditions. Its application reasons include:
1. Type 2 Diabetes Management: Prostaglandin B1 has been shown to improve the longevity of type 2 diabetic rodents, suggesting its potential use in managing or treating diabetes-related complications.
2. Inflammation Regulation: As a regulator of inflammation, prostaglandin B1 can be used to alleviate symptoms associated with inflammatory conditions.
3. Vasodilation and Bronchodilation: Due to its ability to cause vasodilation and bronchodilation, prostaglandin B1 can be utilized in the treatment of cardiovascular and respiratory disorders.
Used in Research and Development:
Prostaglandin B1 is used as a research tool for studying the mechanisms underlying various physiological processes. Its application reasons include:
1. Arachidonic Acid Mobilization: Oligomers of prostaglandin B1 inhibit arachidonic acid mobilization in human neutrophils and endothelial cells, making it a valuable tool for investigating the role of arachidonic acid in cellular functions and signaling pathways.
2. Prostaglandin Synthesis and Metabolism: Prostaglandin B1 can be used to study the synthesis and metabolism of prostaglandins, which are essential for understanding their roles in various physiological and pathological processes.
Enzyme inhibitor
This eicosanoid (FWB1 (free-acid) = 336.47 g/mol; CAS 13345-51-2, for PGB1,
and 39306-29-1, for Bx) is a metabolite of prostaglandin E1: prostaglandin
Bx is an oligomer of prostaglandin B1. The X-ray crystal structure of
prostaglandin B1 suggests this prostaglandin has an unusual L-shaped
configuration, with the a and w side chains roughly perpendicular to one
another. The 15-hydroxyl group, which is normally directed away from
the centroid of the prostaglandin in the standard hairpin mod+el, is turned
inward in prostaglandin B1. Target (s) : FoF1 ATPase, or H-transporting
two-sector ATPase, inhibited by prostaglandin Bx; 15-
hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase; phospholipase A2, inhibited by
prostaglandin Bx.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 13345-51-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,3,4 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13345-51:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*3)+(4*4)+(3*5)+(2*5)+(1*1)=82
82 % 10 = 2
So 13345-51-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
