Synthesis of 4-[(substituted-benzothiazol-2-yl)-hydrazono]-3-methyli ethoxy-4H-isoxazol-5-ones and their antimicrobial activity

2-[(Substituted-benzothiazol-2-yl) hydrazono]-3-oxo-butyric acid ethyl ester and 2-[(substituted-benzothiazol-2-yl)-hydrazono] malonic acid diethyl ester has been reacted with hydroxyl amine hydrochloride to give the title compounds. The structure of all these compounds have been confirmed by IR. 1H NMR, Mass and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity. The compounds showed significant antifungal and insecticidal activity against plant pathogenic fungi and insects.
