Purification Methods
Recrystallisation from H2O gives the 16-18H2O hydrate (solubility at 20o is 170g/100mL). Alternatively dissolve it in 50% H2SO4 and evaporate (60-70o), cool and precipitate it by adding EtOH/Et2O. On heating at 165o it provides the anhydrous salt, which is a white hygroscopic solid. [Reimmann & Tanner Z Naturforsch 20B 71 1965.]
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 13494-91-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,4,9 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13494-91:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*4)+(4*9)+(3*4)+(2*9)+(1*1)=112
112 % 10 = 2
So 13494-91-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
