Syntheses of 1,6-methanoannulene-phthalimido-derivatives 4, 5a, 5b, 5c, and 6 are described, starting from 2,7-disubstituted 1,6-methanoannulenes; derivative 8 was prepared from 2-bromo-11,11-difluoro-1,6-methanoannulene (9). 4 and 8 can be changed to the 2-amino-1,6-methanoannulenes 10 and 11.
