13548-43-1 Usage
Safety Profile
A confirmed carcinogen. Poison. See also CHROMIUM COMPOUNDS and SULFATES. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NH3, NO,, and SO,.
Purification Methods
Crystallise the double salt from a saturated aqueous solution at 55o by cooling slowly with rapid mechanical stirring. The resulting fine crystals are filtered on a Büchner funnel, partly dried on a porous plate, then equilibrated for several months in a vacuum desiccator over crude chromium ammonium sulfate (partially dehydrated by heating at 100o for several hours before use) [Johnson et al. J Am Chem Soc 75 3922 1953].
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 13548-43-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,5,4 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13548-43:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*5)+(4*4)+(3*8)+(2*4)+(1*3)=101
101 % 10 = 1
So 13548-43-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
