The zwitterionic adduct between tri-n-butylphosphine and carbon disulfide reacts under neutral conditions with two equivalents of dimethyl and diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, dibenzoylacetylene and methyl benzoylpropiolate to give novel crystalline dithiole-containing ylides whose structure is established by X-ray crystallography.
