It was shown that azomethine imines, which were considered unstable, can be obtained from mono- and diaryldiazomethanes and 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione.The results from the reaction of azomethine imines of the 1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione series with unsymmetrical ethylene dipolarophiles indicate that the reactions with vinyl ethyl ether are highly regioselective, leading exclusively to 7-ethoxyperhydropyrazolo-1,2,4-triazoles.
