A suitable method was developed for the synthesis of new crown compounds containing a carboxyl group in the polyesther cavity.The method involves fusion of equimolar amounts of maleic,phthalic,and 4-cyclohexene-cis-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydrides with the hydroxyl-substituted derivatives of crown ethers.Under the conditions of complex formation with potassium fluoroborate the synthesized crown compounds undergo disproportionation, leading to the formation of biscrown compounds.
