The solvoprotolytic dissociation of metal complexes of tetrazaporphin in aqueous sulphuric acid has been shown to be first-order with respect to both the complex and the concentration of oxonium ions.A mechanism for the solvoprotolytic dissociation of the metal complexes of tetrazaporphin in sulphuric acid is proposed. The stabilities of metal tetrazaporphyrins and metal phthalocyanines in aqueous sulphuric acid are compared.
