The present invention relates generally to [l,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]quinoline-6(5H)thione and [1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]quinoline derivatives and/or compositions for use in inhibiting, preventing and/or treating cancer, e.g. hepatocellular carcionoma (HCC). In some embodiments, the invention relates to the use of small-molecule compounds to inhibit, prevent and/or treat expression of the transcription factor Late SV40 Factor (LSF) for treatment of HCC or other cancer types.
