General Description

Calcium chromate(VI) is a chemical compound with the formula CaCrO4. It is a bright yellow solid that is insoluble in water, but soluble in acids. Calcium chromate(VI) is a strong oxidizing agent and is used in a variety of industrial applications, including as a pigment in paints and dyes, as well as in the manufacturing of corrosion-resistant coatings for metal surfaces. It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor in concrete and as a component in specialty ceramics. However, it is considered toxic and potentially carcinogenic, so careful handling and protective measures are necessary when working with this chemical.
