The diene synthesis reaction with the new highly active dienes 1-(2-furyl)- and (5-methyl-2-furyl)-3-trimethylsilyloxybutadienes and various dienophiles is a convenient method for the production of 2-furylcyclanones.It was established that the cycloaddition of the above-mentioned dienes to unsymmetrical dienophiles is highly regioselective.
