Synthesis of zirconium (hafnium) fluoride compounds and their X-ray luminescence properties
Godneva,Motov,Boroznovskaya,Klimkin
, p. 661 - 666 (2007)
Twenty-five zirconium (hafnium) fluoride compounds have been synthesized at room temperature in the systems MO2-H2SO 4-M′nA(HF)-H2O (M = Zr (Hf); M′ = Na, K, Rb, Cs, NH4; A = F, SO4) and their X-ray luminescence spectra (luminescence wavelengths and relative intensities) have been measured. The X-ray luminescence of the compounds has been considered as a function of the composition (cations, anions, water content) and different structural factors (CNs, polyhedra, H-bonds). Ammonium compounds do not luminesce, and sodium fluorozirconates and heptafluorozirconates are weakly luminescing. Hexafluorozirconates M2Zr(Hf)F6 (M= K, Rb, Cs) and M5Zr4F21 ? 3H2O (M = Rb, Cs), as well as oxofluorozirconate Rb2Zr3OF 12, are strongly luminescing compounds. Nauka/Interperiodica 2007.
Thermal behavior of ammonium-bearing zirconium and hafnium hydrofluoride fluoro complexes
Antokhina,Savchenko,Merkulov,Kaidalova,Polishchuk
, p. 642 - 644 (2008/10/09)
Compounds (NH4)4MA3F17 ·2HF (M = Li, Na; A = Zr, Hf) were studied using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and X-ray powder diffraction. It was found that the fluoro complexes studied are dehydrofluorinated in the temperature range 120-230°C, which results in their decomposition and the formation of ammonium- and sodium-(lithium)-bearing fluoro complexes. Chemical properties of (NH4)2SiF6
Mel'nichenko,Krysenko,Epov
, p. 153 - 157 (2008/10/09)
Solid-phase interactions of (NH4)2SiF6 with silicon oxide are investigated; calcium oxide; potassium carbonate; and zirconium, aluminum, and barium fluorides. The phase composition is investigated, and the chemical composition is determined for the interaction products, including sublimates. The IR spectra and DTA curves are measured. It has been shown that ammonium hexafluorosilicate is an active fluorinating agent at temperatures above the thermal stability temperature of ammonium hydrodifluoride, which may be of interest for chemical technology. Synthesis and crystal structure of (NH4)ZrF5 and (NH4)HfF5 by oxidation of zirconium and hafnium with (NH4)HF2
Plitzko, Christian,Meyer, Gerd
, p. 169 - 170 (2008/10/09)
Colourless single crystals of NH4ZrF5 (1) and NH4HfF5 (2) are obtained by reaction of the respective metal powders with NH4HF2 (4 weeks) in sealed Monel metal containers at 450°C. They crystallize with the monoclinic space group P21/c with (1/2) a = 778.16(14)/786.35(12), b = 790.75(9)/786.64(8), c = 792.44(12)/786.01(12), β = 119.177(12)/ 119.828(10) isotypic to TlZrF5.
Reactions of Some Ammonium Fluorometalates with XeF2
Slivnik, Joze,Druzina, Branko,Zemva, Boris
, p. 1457 - 1460 (2007/10/02)
The reactions between (NH4)2TiF6, (NH4)2ZrF6, (NH4)2HfF6, (NH4)3VF6, (NH4)3CrF6, NH4MnF3, (NH4)3FeF6 and excess xenon difluoride were investigated. The listed ammonium fluorometalates react with xenon difluoride to form corresponding xenon(II) fluorometalates, monoammonium fluorometalates with metal in the same oxidation state, and ammonium fluorometalates with metal in higher oxidation state, respectively. - Keywords: Xenon Difluoride Reactions, Ammonium Fluorometalates, Hydrazinium Fluorometalates
