Synthesis and mutual transformations of naphthomethylenequinonimines derived from 11-methylene5a,6,7,9a-tetrahydronaphtho[l ',2' : 4,5]imidazo[l,2-a]pyridine

Base-catalyzed reactions of substituted 1,4-naphthomethyIenequinoneimines, derivatives of 1l-methylene-5a,6,7,9a-tetrahydronaphtho[1',2':4,5]imidazo[l,2-a]pyridine, with compounds containing an active methylene group result in exchange of the methylene fragments. This reaction is an example of a new direction of nucleophilic attack in methylenequinpid systems.

REACTIONS OF DERIVATIVES OF 4a,9-DIAZA-1,2,4a,9a-TETRAHYDRO-6H-FLUORENE WITH NUCLEOPHILIC REAGENTS AND BROMINE

The reaction of quinone mono- and diimines of the 4a,9-diaza-1,2,4a,9a-tetrahydro-6H-fluorene series with aniline and thiophenol gives the corresponding 7-monosubstituted derivatives; with o-phenylenediamine and o-aminophenol the corresponding 6,7-annella
