General Description
1-(2-Chloroethyl)-3-[p-(dimethylcarbamoyl)phenyl]-3-nitrosourea, also known as lomustine, is a chemotherapy medication used in the treatment of certain types of brain tumors, lung cancer, and Hodgkin's disease. It belongs to the class of nitrosourea alkylating agents, which work by interfering with the DNA replication process in cancer cells, ultimately leading to their destruction. Lomustine is administered orally and is able to cross the blood-brain barrier, making it particularly effective in treating brain tumors.
