An efficient methodology for the synthesis of 4-amino-2-iminothiazole derivatives has been developed. The synthesis involves the cyclization of unsymmetrical 1-aroyl-3-arylthioureas with a variety of 2-bromo-2- phenylacetonitriles bearing α-H in the presence of triethylamine and acetonitrile.
