Usage

General Description

2-bromo-6-mercaptopurine is a chemical compound with the formula C5H4BrN4S. It is a derivative of the purine nucleoside adenine and is used in the treatment of leukemia and other cancers. 2-bromo-6-mercaptopurine is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HGPRT), which is involved in the synthesis of purine nucleotides.
