Studies on synthesis of novel low molecular weight anthraquinone disperse dyes and their application on polyester and nylon

A series of novel disperse dyes has been prepared by subsequent reaction of 2-(2′-anthraquinonylamino-3′-hydroxy)-4-anilino-6-chloro-s-triazine with various amines. All the disperse dyes were characterized by their percentage yield, melting point, nitrogen elemental analysis, infrared spectrum, 1H NMR data and dyeing performance on polyester and nylon fabrics. The percentage dye bath exhaustion on both the fabrics was found to be reasonably good and the dyed fabrics showed fair to good fastness to light and very good to excellent fastness to washing and rubbing.
