A facile synthesis of (E)-3-styryl-1-phenyl cyclohepta[c]pyrazol-8(1H)-ones

A facile synthesis of some novel (E)-3-styryl-1-phenylcyclohepta[c]pyrazol- 8(1H)-ones via the condensation reaction of 3-cinnamoyltropolones with phenylhydrazine is described. All the synthesized compounds were obtained in good yields of 62-69 % and their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS, and elemental analysis. This procedure offers easy access to tropone-fused pyrazole derivatives in short reaction times, and the products are achieved in good yields.
