Racemic 2-methylcyclopropane dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester undergoes selective enzymatic reactions to give enantiomerically pure monocarboxylic acids which by classical organic chemistry lead to the four 1-amino 2-methyl cyclproane carboxylic acids.
