Usage

General Description

Miriplatin is a lipophilic platinum complex that has been developed for use in the treatment of liver cancer. It is designed to deliver a high concentration of platinum to tumor cells while minimizing systemic toxicity. Miriplatin is administered directly to the tumor via transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), a minimally invasive procedure in which a catheter is used to deliver the drug directly to the tumor blood vessels. Once inside the tumor, miriplatin releases its active platinum compound, which works by binding to DNA and interfering with cell division, ultimately leading to cell death.
