The invention discloses a curcuminoid and a preparation method and application thereof. The structural formula the curcuminoid is shown as (I); wherein, R1 is -O-R5, -H or -OH; R2 is -OH or -H; R3 is C1-5 alkyl, -COO-R5 or H; R4 is C1-5 alkyl, -COO-R5, -COOH or -(CH3)n-Ph; and R5 is C1-5 alkyl. The preparation method is reasonable and scientific in design of a design synthesis route, the obtained curcuminoid has strong antioxidant ability, free radical formation inhibiting ability and free radical scavenging ability, can suppress and scavenge free radicals by use in cigarette tobacco, and can reduce the harm brought to human body by smoking.
