A vic-dioxime ligand containing the ferrocene group anti-β- ferrocenylethylamino p-chlorophenylglyoxime (1) was synthesized from the reaction of β-ferrocenylethylamine with anti-chloro-p-chloro- phenylglyoxime. The mononuclear Ni(II), Cu(II), Co(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) complexes of the vic-dioxime ligand were prepared and characterized using elemental analyses, mass spectra, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Vis spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Magnetic susceptibility, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR, and 13C NMR) techniques. The redox behavior was studied using cyclic voltammetry and revealed metal-centered reduction processes for all complexes.
