The reactions of diethyl-3-pyridylphosphite with sulfur, phenyl azide, and chloral lead to the corresponding thio-, imino-, and vinyl phosphate. In the interaction with acyl chlorides, trinitrophenyl halides, or boron trifluoride etherate, cleavage of the HtO-P(III) bond occurs.Methyl iodide and triethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate react at the nitrogen atom.In 3-pyridylchlorovinylethyl phosphate, spotaneous O-N migration of the ethyl group, leading to betaine was detected.
