Ambient arylmagnesiation of alkynes catalysed by ligandless nickel(ii)

A simple and efficient catalytic arylmagnesiation of diarylacetylenes and aryl(alkyl)acetylenes is accomplished by NiCl2·6H2O at r.t. in the absence of stabilising ligands.
