147366-41-4 Usage
Description
MKT-077 is a cationic rhodacyanine dye that demonstrates antiproliferative activity against cancer cell lines (EC50s = 1.4-2.2 μM in vitro) through its ability to inhibit members of the heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) family of molecular chaperones. It has been shown to bind to an allosteric site conserved in Hsp70 family members, interfering with ATP hydrolysis and abrogating the interaction of the chaperone with the tumor suppressor p53.
Uses
MKT-077 is used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s diseases and other tauopathie’s. Also, is a rhodacyanine derivative that selectively targets cancer cells and overcomes tamoxifen resistance
Biochem/physiol Actions
MKT-077 is an inhibitor of mitochondrial hsp70 family member, mortalin (mot-2)n; causes selective death of cancer cells.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 147366-41-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,4,7,3,6 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 147366-41:
(8*1)+(7*4)+(6*7)+(5*3)+(4*6)+(3*6)+(2*4)+(1*1)=144
144 % 10 = 4
So 147366-41-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOUNDS AND USE OF SAME IN CANCER AND TAUOPATHIES
-
Paragraph 0017; 0054, (2014/09/16)
Disclosed are compounds of formula (l)-(V): where the substituents are as provided herein. Further disclosed are methods of inhibiting tau aggregation, treating or ameliorating a tauopathy or cancer by administration of such a compound. Tau is a microtubule-binding protein that accumulates in a number of neurodegenerative disorders, including frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer's disease (AD). The presence of abnormal tau correlates with neuron loss and memory deficits in patients with AD and other neurodegenerative disorders that involve tau accumulation.
